Alimena is a small rural town in the hilly area of the Madonie Mountains. The baroque Mother church was built in 1724; the bell tower is from the same period and the altars are surmounted by XVIII century paintings. The church was part of the Convent of Santa Maria, of which little is left today; it still preserves its original XVIII century structure.
