Lying on a rise overlooking the Maltempo stream valley, in the Upper Belice, Giuliana boasts a Castle built in the XII century on Frederick II’s will. Inside the castle walls, you can see the outstanding church and monastery of the Trinità, built in a later period. Inside the Monte Genuardo natural reserve you can find the Santa Maria del Bosco Abbey, built between the late XVI and the early XVII century, composed of two large buildings provided with cloister and of an impressive church, whose elegant façade, dome and bell tower are still visible. On March 19, the feast of St. Joseph is celebrated by decorating altars with typical products and local bread, while in August an historical parade in renaissance costume is held.
